JUCO Punter Triston Brown has sent in his signed letter of intent and is now officially a Husky! Brown is rated as a 3-star player by the 247 Sports Composite however it’s essentially impossible in their system for a punter to receive anything better than a low 3-star rating. He is the #1 ranked JUCO punter in the country coming out of Mt. San Antonio College.

Brown has been committed to the Huskies for almost 6 months after giving his verbal pledge back in June. He will be one of the oldest Washington players once he gets to campus despite it being his first season since he took a few years off post-high school graduation before enrolling at a junior college while searching for D-1 offers. Brown was rated as the top punter in the country by Chris Sailer who is known as the premier prep kicking specialist in the nation.

Washington knew they would have to take a punter in this class with Aussie Joel Whitford set to graduate. Whitford’s backup is walk-on Race Porter who will be a senior next season and Brown will likely compete with Porter for the starting job next season. Brown redshirted this year for Mt. San Antonio in order to preserve a year of eligibility and will enter Washington with 3 years to play 3.
