Despite the loss yesterday the Huskies still have some positive momentum on the recruiting trail. With 19 commits (they are expected to take around 23 players) and and 2 official visitors in town the Huskies are looking to close out most of their 2020 class by the first signing period. 3 star Husky running back commit Jay’veon Sunday from Connally HS, TX was in town for his official visit before he signs with UW in December. The Huskies were able to land Sunday over Baylor, Arkansas, Colorado and Utah and Sunday has played really well this year.

Also in town for an official visit was 3 star tight end Jake Overman from Servite HS, CA. Overman who holds offers from Cal, Oregon State, Utah, and Colorado. Listed at 6’3” and around 235 pounds the Huskies are trying to add Overman as a 3rd tight end in the class and join current Husky commits Mark Redman, and Mason West. Overman is rated as 34th best tight end in the country by 247sports. It sounds like the Huskies are leading for Overman and they are hoping they can close him after thus weekends official visit. Here is a look at some of his highlights:

This last week there were several new offers that went out to some promising young players. Here is a look at the offers that went out:

3 star 2021 cornerback Zakhari Spears from Loyala HS, CA just got a Husky offer after the Husky staff was able to see him play. Listed at 6’3” and around 175 pounds Spears has great size that the Huskies look for in their corners. Spears has offers from ASU, Utah, Maryland, and WSU. The Huskies have a pretty good pipeline from Loyala HS (Myles Bryant, and Jackson Sirmon are current Huskies who played at Loyala).

4 star 2021 offensive tackle Bram Walden from Saguaro HS, AZ was also offered by UW this last week. Rated by 247sports as the 114th best player in the country and 19th best tackle in the country. Walden currently has offers from a ton of major programs including LSU, USC, Oregon, Michigan, and Ohio State. Listed at around 6’4” and around 270 pounds the Huskies will have some major competition for Walden but they have had success recently at Saguaro HS and will try their best to land the highly rated tackle.

The Huskies also offered 4 star cornerback Jaylin Davies from Mater Dei HS, CA. Davies who holds offers from Alabama, Oregon, USC, Ohio State, and Oklahoma is rated as the 10th best cornerback in the 2021 class by 247sports. This last weekend defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake was able to check out Mater Dei play St John Bosco. Davies is really good player and by some reports he was the best cornerback on the field during the game. The Huskies will have some stiff competition for Davies but they will more than likely have him up for an unofficial visit in the spring.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
