Looking at How The 2020 Class Will Finish

With the commitment of 3 star long snapper Jaden Green from Mesa HS, AZ the Huskies now have 20 commitments in the 2020 class. As of right now it looks like the Huskies class will end up around 23 commitments. With the top rated class in the Pac 12 according to 247sports the Huskies have a couple of players they are still after. Here is a look at who the Huskies are still after:

4 Star defensive back Jacobe Covington from Saguaro HS, AZ who was once committed to UW (and subsequently opened his recruiting up) seems to be coming back around and looking at UW again. The Huskies are looking at adding a 4th DB to their class and bringing Covington back into the fold would be huge for the Huskies. Listed at 6’1” and around 195 pounds Covington has the ability to play cornerback or slide over to safety. Rated by 247sports as the 16th best cornerback and 215th best player in the country by 247sports, Covington is also looking at ASU, USC, and a couple of other schools. Covington is a very good player and could be a impact player, after a redshirt year, for the Huskies.

3 star tight end Jake Overman from Servite HS, CA got a chance to visit UW last weekend, officially, and it sounds like he may be closing in on a decision. Rated by 247sports as the 34th best tight end in country, Overman is considering UW, OSU, AZ, and Cal. The Huskies really want to add a 3rd tight end in the 2020 class and they are hoping they can get Overman in the class soon. When you watch Overman’s film you see that he looks like a typical inline tight end that will block and catch the occasional pass when he is thrown the ball.

3 star defensive end Lance Keneley from Mission Viejo HS, CA has been a player that the Huskies have been recruiting for a while. Listed at 6’5” and around 240 pounds Keneley is rated by 247sports as the 33rd best strong side defensive end in the nation. The Huskies are battling Stanford, and UCLA for Keneley’s commitment and it looks like he will visit UW in December. With his long frame Keneley could grow into a similar role as Levi O, or potentially redshirt and try and replace Joe Tryon on the edge of the Huskies were able to land him.

4 star defensive end Xavier Carlton from Juan Diego Catholic HS, CA is another defensive player the Huskies are actively recruiting. With 30 offers including offers from LSU, USC, Ohio State, Oregon, Utah, and UW Carlton basically has his choice of school. Listed at 6’7” and around 260 pounds Carlton has the size that elite teams covet and the ability to get after the quarterback. It sounds like Utah is currently the leader for Carlton, but UW is hoping that they can get a visit from Carlton in December or January. The Huskies will be losing Benning P, and possibly Levi O (if he declares for the draft) on the defensive line so adding another defensive lineman for the 2020 class is very important.

The Huskies would also love to add 4 star wideout Gary Bryant from Centennial HS, CA however at this time it looks like the Huskies are on the outside looking in for his commitment. Bryant seems to be favoring USC, and ASU right now but the Huskies will continue to push for the speedster who is rated by 247sports as the 11th best wideout and 60th best player in the country. Bryant has elite speed in the mold of John Ross and the Huskies are looking to add more speed to their offense in the 2020 class.

December will be a big month for Huskies recruiting efforts, and seeing who visits will be a big hint at who might fill out the class.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
