During the Huskies bye this week it sounds like the coaches headed to see most of their commits and check in on some of their prospects. One of the biggest games this weekend occurred in Southern California when Myles Muaro and his Mater Dei HS, CA team took on James Smith and his St John Bosco HS, CA team. It sounds like there was at least one coach there for the game (Jimmy Lake), and both commitments fared well in their matchup (Mater Dei won). There are several underclassmen that Lake was checking out as well.

So far this season most of the commitments have played very well and here is a look at how some of the commitments have fared:

3 star quarterback commit Ethan Garbers from Corona Del Mar HS, CA has been putting up monster stats so far this season including throwing for 38 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. He is also 180 for 254 (70%) with 2,690 total yards. So far this season Garbers has lead his team to a 9-0 record.

4 star wideout Jalen McMillan from San Joaquin HS, CA has been seeing a lot of double coverage so far this season but it hasn’t stopped him from putting up some impressive stats. Through 9 games McMillan has 56 catches for 1,038 yards (18.5 ypc average) and 10 touchdowns.

Just as impressive is 4 star wideout Rome Odunze from Bishop Gorman HS, NV. Through 9 games Odunze has 47 catches for 1,060 yards (22.6 ypc)and 13 receiving touchdowns. Odunze has really elevated him game and the Huskies have 2 monster wideouts coming in with Odunze and McMillan.

3 star linebacker Carson Bruener from Redmond HS, WA has really Berlin flying around the field. Through 9 games he had 79 tackles and 4 tackles for a loss. When you watch him play you can really see how he uses his speed to fly around the field.

5 star linebacker commit Sav’ell Smalls from Kennedy HS, WA has really started to come on and impact his teams games. Prior to his game yesterday against Kentwood, Smalls had 25 tackles with 5 tackles for a loss and 3 sacks. It sounds like Coach Pete was at their game yesterday (2021 Husky quarterback commit Sam Huard who is also from Kennedy hit 10,000 passing yards in yesterday’s game).

Next weekend the Huskies will be hosting 2 official visitors when 3 star tight end Jake Overman from Servite HS, CA heads up to UW (the Huskies are looking at him as their 3rd tight end in the class) and 3 star running back commit Jay’veon Sunday from Connally HS, TX also heads up to visit UW. Sunday has also had an impressive senior season, and is showing some impressive toughness and ability to break tackles.

That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
