This weekend the Huskies hosted what will be their biggest recruiting weekend before the 2nd signing period. The Huskies have a few spots left (probably 3-4 spots) and a couple of the guys who are campus this weekend will more than likely fill those spots. Here is a look at who was on campus:
4 star wideout Puka Nacua out of Orem HS, Utah made it on campus with his mom. Nacua is a 6’2” and roughly 190 pound wideout who is committed to USC currently. 247 sports rated him as a top 50 player and the 8th best player in the nation. It sounds like Nacua is also planning on visiting Oregon and possibly Utah at some point prior to signing day. When you watch his film you can see that Nacua can get open deep and he uses his size to high point balls and come down with the catch. The Huskies would love to add Nacua to their wideout room. Here is a look at his film:
4 star inside linebacker Daniel Heimuli from Menlo Atherton joined his teammate and Husky signee Noa Ngalu on campus this weekend. Heimuli has been rumored to be a Husky lean for quite a while but Alabama and Oregon have been pushing for him. Listed at 6’2” and around 225 pounds Heimuli has good size for the middle linebacker position. 247 sports rated Heimuli as a top 200 player and the 9th best inside linebacker in the country. When you watch his film you see how active and the range that Heimuli has. Here are his senior highlights:
3 star corner Jayden Williams from Centennial HS, CA is a relative sleeper in the 2019 class. His only current offers are from UW and Oregon. Listed at 6’1” and around 190 pounds Williams has good size for the corner position. When you watch his film you can see how he loves to tackle and how active he is on the field. I would expect that Williams commits to UW as it looks like Oregon may not have any room for another defensive back. Here is a look at his highlights:
3 star linebacker Drew Fowler from Bellevue HS, WA was on campus as a preferred walk on candidate. The Huskies would like to add Fowler to their program but he also has a preferred walk on option from Stanford and a scholarship to Louisville. Listed at 6’2” and around 215 pound Fowler would be a great pickup as a walk on for the Huskies.
3 star offensive lineman Cole Thomas from Bishop Blanchet high school was on a campus as a preferred walk player as well. Thomas holds scholarship offers from Utah State and Texas Tech. Listed at 6’7” and around 265 pounds Thomas would be a great pickup as a walk on as well.
The Huskies are also still after 4 star safety Asa Turner from Carlsbad HS, CA. It sounds like both Notre Dame and UW assistants were in his house this last weekend. Defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake spent several hours with Turner and his family and it sounds like he may have swung the momentum for Turner back to UW. Turner put out a tweet yesterday apparently indicating he is ready to make his decision. If that is the case it sounds like he will re-commit to UW, which would be a massive boost for the Huskies.
