#13 Husky volleyball swept all three opponents in the Boise State Classic to finish non-conference play, picking up wins over Sacramento State (5-9), Cal State Northridge (5-8), and host Boise State (8-3).

  • Washington 3, Boise State 0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-17)
  • Washington 3, Cal State Northridge 0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-17)
  • Washington 3, Sacramento State 0 (25-13, 25-11, 28-26)

Notes

The Huskies (8-2) enter conference play on a 12-set winning streak, started after dropping the first set against Kennesaw State the previous weekend.

After struggling the first couple of weeks, senior RS Destiny Julye took a massive step in the right direction in the final non-conference tournament. She hit .458 over the course of the tournament, racking up 10 blocks and 6 aces in the three matches. Julye had seen her playing time cut into significantly by freshman Shannon Crenshaw during weeks 2 & 3, but seemed to reassert her spot in the lineup. I would expect Coach Cook to continue to ride the hot hand(s) between Sam Drechsel, Julye, and Crenshaw at the RS and OH2 spots (behind Kara Bajema).
