Vita Vea became the fifth member of the Washington Huskies to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft during the Chris Petersen era tonight, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected him with the 12th overall pick.
With the #12 overall pick in the 2018 #NFLDraft, the @Buccaneers select #VitaVea (@VitaVea)!

For much of his college career, Vea anchored the Washington defensive line with his 6’4”, 347 lb. frame. While he offers prototypical size for a nose tackle in a 3-4 scheme, what makes Vea a truly special prospect is his speed and quickness that allows him to move laterally in the way one might expect from a defensive end.
