A Chat With A Defensive Line Recruit

I was recently able to chat with 4 star defensive lineman Jacob Bandes out of Pittsburg HS, CA. He Has offers from most of the Pac 12 and was on the UW campus last weekend. Here is what he had to say:

Hey Jacob-

What was your impression of Husky Stadium and UW’s campus?

Husky Stadium was really cool. I got to see the campus and that was really cool, and I like the library. It had that castle gothic vibe, that was really cool.

What did you think of Coach Pete’s OKG philosophy?

It was nice for Coach Pete to think as me as one of his OKG’s. It made me feel special and unique for them wanting to recruit me.

What coaches and players were you able to spend time with?

I got to be in the defensive line meeting with Coach Malloe. I hung out with him and the d-line guys. I like Greg Gaines, he is a funny guy to hang out with.

Did you get a chance to sit down with Coach Pete and how did that go?

Yeah Coach Pete is a funny unique person to talk to. He is an awesome coach and I love his style as a person and a coach.

What was the highlight of your trip?

The highlight of the trip was the ability to hang out with the players and the coaches, and being involved with the players in their meetings and getting the whole tour of the facilities.

Do you have any other trips set up?

No other trips set yet.

When are you trying to narrow down your schools or make your commitment?

I’m going to make my commitment date the army bowl game. I will call the schools like the night before, just to give them a heads up.
