Husky coaches are hosting a huge recruiting weekend prior to the December early signing period with several of their commitments in town along with a few uncommitted prospects. Here is a look at who was in town this weekend:
Four-star defensive end Laiatu Latu out of Jesuit HS, CA headed up to Montlake along with his family. Latu is a big-time prospect with offers from around the country including Alabama, USC, Georgia, Notre Dame, and a host of other schools. Listed at 6’5” and around 240 pounds, Latu has the size to play Buck, which is where UW is recruiting him. 247sports has Latu rated as a top 150 player in the class. When you watch his film you see how athletic he is and also how he can get after the quarterback. Latu is scheduled to commit officially on his birthday, which is the 30th of December. Based on the fact that UW received the last official visit I believe UW has a great shot at landing him, but he also really likes USC. Here is a look at highlights:
Three-star tight end Kyle Patterson out of Perry HS, AZ was recently offered by the Huskies and decided to visit Montlake prior to the early signing period. Listed at 6’6” and around 235 pounds, Patterson looks to be a good blocking tight end who can also catch a few passes a game (similar to Drew Sample). Patterson also holds offers from Oregon State, Arizona, and Syracuse. I expect Patterson to commit to the Huskies relatively soon after his visit and be the only tight end the Huskies take for the class. Here is a look at his highlights:
Joining Latu and Patterson on campus were several committed prospects. Here is a list of who was on campus:
Four-star defensive tackle Faatui Tuitele from St. Louis HS, HI. Tuitele committed to UW a little more than a month ago and was a big-time pickup for UW. He committed to UW over offers from Clemson, Alabama, Texas, and USC.
Four-star defensive tackle Jacob Bandes from Pittsburg HS, CA. Bandes committed to UW back in the summer over offers from Clemson, Oregon, Florida, and Ole Miss. He is scheduled to enroll at UW in January.
Four-star defensive back Kamren Fabiculanan from Westlake Village HS, CA. Fabiculanan committed to UW in March over offers from Oregon and Georgia, with USC and UCLA also offering him this summer.
Four-star defensive tackle Sama Paama from Kaimuki HS, HI. Paama committed to UW after unoffficially visiting in April, over offers from Oregon, USC, Nebraska, and ASU.
Four-star offensive lineman Nathaniel Kalepo from Rainier Beach HS, WA. Kalepo committed to UW last year (2017) over a strong push from Oregon.
Three-star offensive lineman Troy Fautanu from Liberty HS, NV. Fautanu committed to UW this fall over offers from USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, and Oregon.
Three-star linebacker Alphonzo Tuputala from Federal Way HS, WA. Tuputala committed to UW after getting a Husky offer at the Rising Stars Camp this summer.
Here is a look at some photos of the players on their visits:

All of the commits are scheduled to sign on Wednesday. UW currently has 20 commits with some room for a few more players. I will break down the recruiting board tomorrow. As always follow me @asieverkropp.
