Football Dots

  • ILB Ben Burr-Kirven was named a 1st team AP All-American yesterday while CB Byron Murphy and S Taylor Rapp were named to the 2nd team. The 3 Huskies were the only non-ST players from the Pac-12 to make the 1st or 2nd teams.
  • ESPN released their 1st team All-Americans and BBK and Taylor Rapp both made the team.
  • ESPN also put out their all-conference 1st teams and awards and C Nick Harris, DT Greg Gaines, ILB BBK, CB Byron Murphy, and Taylor Rapp all made the list.
  • Greg Gaines and Kaleb McGary won the Morris Trophy given to the best offensive and defensive linemen in the Pac-12 as named by the players. It’s the 1st time the Huskies swept the award since 1991 when it went to Steven Emtman and Lincoln Kennedy. Vita Vea won the trophy as a defensive lineman last season.

Basketball Dots

  • For the 2nd time this season Jaylen Nowell was named Pac-12 player of the week. He averaged 22.5 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game on 55% shooting in a win over Seattle U and narrow loss at #1 Gonzaga.
