Recently I got a chance to ask 2020 4 star running back Sam Adams II about his recruitment and getting a recent UW offer. Adams who is listed at 6’2” and around 200 pounds plays for a stacked Eastside Catholic team. So far Adams has close to 600 yards rushing and is averaging 14.7 yards a rush with 11 total touchdowns (according to maxpreps). Over the last several months Adams has received offers from the likes of Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Michigan, Penn State, and several others. Here is what he had to say:
What part of your game do you think has improved the most since last year?
I believe that me just becoming more comfortable playing since in the previous years I didn’t get as many snaps.
It looks like you have picked up some big offers lately, which schools have been recruiting you the hardest so far?
UW, Oregon, Ohio St, Michigan, Nebraska, Texas A&M and Penn State.
Who has been recruiting you at UW and what have they been saying about you and your game?
I am in contact with coach KB and Coach Petersen at UW and we’re always just trying to build our relationship. They said that they have been watching my film and keeping up with me for awhile and feel that I am a good fit for them.
What does it mean that you got an offer from UW?
An offer from the UW is big time because it’s the home town school. Having an offer from a home town school is something that many players dream of.
What are you looking for in the school that you ultimately decide to commit to?
I am looking for a place with a good education, good coaching staff and somewhere where my family and I feel comfortable with.
When are you going to try and make your decision and commit to a school?
I am still deciding a time to commit yet since I have time.
The Huskies will be in the market for more than likely 2 running backs in the 2020 class and Adams is a big time recruit on their board. Here are some of his recent highlights:
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
