Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Add Another Bigtime QB To Their QB Room

Recruiting Roundup

NCAA Football: Washington at Washington State James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

This last weekend was fruitful for the Huskies both on and off the field. Off the field the Huskies landed their first commit for the 2021 class and it was a big one when 5 Star QB Sam Huard from Kennedy Catholic HS, WA committed to UW. He is the top QB currently in the 2021 class, and was the national freshmen of the year last last year. Getting Huard to commit so early will definitely help the Husky class for 2021. Huard will be proactive in recruiting for the Huskies, and 2021 happens to be a banner year for the state of Washington with several national recruits with Husky offers already including 4 star athlete Emeka Egbuka from Steilacoom HS, WA and 5 star Athlete (he is listed as a defensive tackle by 247 sports) JT Tuimoloau from Eastside Catholic HS, WA. Here are some of Huard’s highlights:

In other news the Huskies hosted 4 star defensive lineman Stephon Wright out of Cathedral HS, CA last weekend when the Huskies beat the Oregon State Beavers. Wright was supposed to commit on Wednesday, but it sounds like the Huskies wowed Wright and his family on the trip enough to make him delay his commitment. Most experts thought he was going to commit to ASU, but after delaying his commitment it sounds like UW made up a ton of ground and will look to close him in the coming weeks (he is expected to sign with the school he commits to on December 20th).

The Huskies won’t have any official visitors until the first weekend of December, but in December they will have several big recruiting weekends with the biggest being the weekend of the 15th.

Currently there are 19 commits in the class which includes the recent commitment of 4 Star defensive tackle Faatui Tuitele our of St Louis HS, HI. The Huskies will look to add some players at a few positions including linebacker, wide receiver, defensive back, tight end, and another defensive lineman.

As we get closer to the official visit weekends we will put up a list of who will be coming to Montlake. That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
