The Washington Huskies dismantled the BYU Cougars last Saturday night, showcasing everything that has made UW one of the top programs in the country over the past three years. They ran the ball with ease, using their speed on the stretch play to rack up nearly 200 yards on the ground. Jake Browning was on fire, with an 11.1 yards per attempt average that wasn’t even inflated by long gains (the longest pass play was 30 yards).
Defensively, other than a couple little screen plays and shovel passes, the BYU offense was completely shut down. If not for a fumbled punt and two missed field goals, we’re probably looking at a 48-0 slaughter (because Jake Haener comes in on the last drive and goes 7-7 with a TD, of course).
This thing was billed as a Top 20 showdown. My brother in law is a casual Dawg fan and said that he was looking forward to this game because it would be a real challenge (I’m guessing he watched Gameday or something). I told him I didn’t really think so. BYU pulled off a huge upset, but they are more pretenders than contenders.
Still, this was the kind of one-sided domination that UW couldn’t put together against North Dakota. While it’s not as impressive as an ass-kicking of a good opponent, it is certainly not “nothing.” It was the Dawgs clicking on all cylinders, and as a Husky fan it was really great to watch.
So the question this week: What does this win say about the Husky team?

Awesome. That team beat Wisconsin and barely belonged on the field against the Huskies

I feel good. It’s a game they should have won easily and it was nice to see UW perform at the level we expect.

I feel "meh". BYU isn’t a Top 20 team and the Huskies exposed them.

I don’t feel good about it. Penalties, fumbles and missed field goals will cost them down the stretch.
