#ProDawgs Week 8: Defensive Studs

Budda Baker made big plays all over the field as the Cardinals picked up a season sweep of San Francisco. He had five tackles, a pass defensed, and a key half-sack to force a 49ers punt late that led to the game-winning drive.

Cory Littleton continued to play very well, recording 8 tackles including a key stop on a third down run in the Rams’ comeback win over the Packers.

Teammate Marcus Peters did not fare so well, getting beaten badly by Davante Adams for a touchdown on a hitch-n-go route. USA Today’s Doug Farrar speculates that the Rams may be (or at least should be) looking at other options at corner.

Shaq Thompson tallied a career-high 13 tackles to help Carolina beat Baltimore.

Mason Foster made plays all over the field for the Redskins yet again, recording 13 tackles in their win over the Giants.

Backup TE Josh Perkins doesn’t have many chances to shine, but made a big play in the Eagles’ win over Jacksonville, blocking All-Pro DE Calais Campbell long enough to allow Carson Wentz to throw a touchdown to a fellow TE Dallas Goedert (watch 83 on the right side of the offensive line).

Texans OG Senio Kelemete has been a catalyst on the improved play from Houston’s offensive line, which hasn’t allowed a sack in 116 minutes of game time as the Texans put up 42 points in a win over Miami.

Jermaine Kearse had 30 receiving yards, but only caught 3 of 10 targets in the Jets’ loss at Chicago.

Vita Vea made a tackle early in Tampa Bay’s near-comeback against Cincinnati, but more importantly avoided a possible long-term injury when an MRI revealed no ACL damage.

Kevin King returned from injury and made two tackles for Green Bay.

Dante Pettis returned for his first game since a week 4 injury in the 49ers loss, but had no receptions and his only touch was a muffed punt.

Desmond Trufant and Marvin Hall were off with the Falcons on bye.

Danny Shelton plays tonight for the Patriots against the Dolphins.
