After a tough loss and what has sod far been a lackluster offense this year for the Huskies I figured it would be a good idea to look at the offensive players that the Huskies are bringing in for the 2019 class.
QB- At quarterback the Huskies are bringing in 4 star Dylan Morris out of Graham Kapowsin HS, WA. Morrris is not an NFL prototypical quarterback but he is accurate and a typical quarterback that you see in coach Pete’s offense. He will be the only quarterback the Huskies bring in for the class. Here are some of Morris’ highlights:
RB- At running back the Huskies are bringing Cameron Davis from Upland HS, CA. Upland isn’t the biggest back but he has that extra gear that you want to see from your starting running back. The Huskies in my opinion could really use a bigger running back but at this point they seem set on just taking Davis. Here is a 40 yard touchdown run by Davis:
TE- The Huskies currently don’t have any committed players at the position. In my opinion they need 1 just to balance out the position (they lose Sample to graduation).
WR- Currently there is only 1 player committed in 3 Star Taj Davis from Upland HS, CA. He is a bigger wideout and has good speed but he will need a year at least in the system to get bigger. The Huskies desperately need a big play wideout and they are trying to land one. They are actively recruiting 5 stars Kyle Ford from Orange Lutheran HS, CA and Bru McCoy from Mater Dei HS, CA. Both guys are bigger wideouts who create instant mismatches and have good speed. Here are some highlights of McCoy:
OL- At The Offensive line position the Huskies are set at the position with two four star tackles in Nathaniel Kalepo from Rainier Beach HS, WA and Julius Buelow from Kapolei HS, HI. Both guys have the size of protypical NFL tackles but they will both need at least a year in the system before they see the field. At guard the Huskies are bringing in two 3 star players in Corey Luciano from Diablo Valley JC, CA and Troy Fautanu from Liberty HS, NV. Luciano will probably figure in the rotation next year and Fautanu may need a year to learn the ins and outs of playing the guard position (he plays tackle for his team now). Here are some of Luciano’s highlights (he is redshirting this year):
As most Husky fans can attest the Huskies need a few game breaking offensive players and if they can land Ford or McCoy I think the Huskies will be bringing in players who will help the offense out possibly next year but for sure in 2020.
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
