Week 7 TV Schedule and UW Huskies Rooting Guide

Washington is still thinking about the Playoff, but they need more help.

NCAA Football: Louisiana State at Florida Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

It’s week 7 and the stretch run to the season is just before us. Where has the time gone?

Washington fans know that the College Football Playoff is still a longshot. But it is decidedly not a “no-shot”. With that, there is plenty of intrigue for Husky fans to attend to in the week 7 action.

Here is your rooting guide:

Arizona at Utah (Friday)

Root for: Friday Night Lights

The South is a mess. Neither of these two teams is out of it. It doesn’t really help UW more if one teams defeats the other. It’s just fun to watch PAC 12 football on Friday nights.

#2 Georgia at #13 LSU

Root for: LSU

The Tigers, I think, have been vastly overrated this year thanks to their early season win over an Auburn team that we are starting to learn is not very good. That said, overrated does not mean “not good”. The Bulldogs are not a perfect team. And road trips to LSU are notoriously intimidating. A LSU win here could help mitigate the two SEC team risk that is always present with the CFP.

Pitt at #5 Notre Dame

Root for: Pitt

The Irish are clearly through the most challenging stretch of their schedule. Of the teams left that could pose a threat, Pitt is one of them (USC being the other).

There probably is no scenario where a PAC 12 team gets into the Playoff if Notre Dame qualifies. So the rooting interest here is clear.

#15 Wisconsin at #12 Michigan

Root for: Wisconsin

The Wolverines remain a real threat to win the Big Ten and take a Playoff spot. Their only loss on the year is a pretty respectable one score loss to Notre Dame and they still have tOSU ahead of them. Thus, if you want to see another contender in a rival conference get hung with a second loss, You’ll definitely want to root for the Badgers.

It is true that Wisconsin also sits at one loss. However, that loss is to a BYU team that UW handily defeated a few weeks ago.
