Husky fans everywhere are breathing a sigh of relief tonight as record setting running back Myles Gaskin announced his intent to return to school for his senior year.

Gaskin was eligible to declare and was widely viewed as a draftable player. But Gaskin’s size and a relatively deep cohort of incoming running backs had many windering what Gaskin’s true draft value might actually be. By coming back, Gaskin has the opportunity to improve his draft stock by developing his receiving skills and answering questions about his potential as a pass blocker.

The Huskies offense will certainly benefit from Gaskin’s decision. The UW star is the all-time Husky record-holder for rushing touchdowns with 45 and joins only Napoleon Kaufman and Chris Polk as the only Huskies to have ever recorded three 1,000 yard seasons. None have ever had four.

Happy New Year, Dawg Fans.
