Huskies Adding Offensive Weapons For 2018 Class

NCAA Football: Arizona State at Washington Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

The 2018 recruiting class is off to a fantastic start so far with commitments from six players, five of which are 4-star prospects. The Husky class ranked in the top 10 nationally and includes the following commits:

Jacob Sirmon, a 4-star QB out of Bothell HS, WA. He was the first to commit for the 2018 class and boasts offers from across the country but remains solid in his commitment.

Austin Osborne, a 4-star WR out of Mission Viejo HS, CA committed to UW over offers from Michigan, Miami, Oregon, and UCLA.

Trey Lowe, a 4-star Athlete out of Jesuit HS, OR committed to UW over offers from Oregon, Oregon State, and Arizona.

Marquis Spiker, a 4-star WR out of Murrieta Valley HS, CA committed to UW over offers from USC, Michigan, UCLA, and Oregon.

Colson Yankoff, a 4-star QB out of Coeur D’Alene HS, ID committed this week. He was a former Oregon commit.

Jackson Sirmon, a 3-star linebacker out of Brentwood Academy HS, TN committed to UW over offers from Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.

This is an excellent start for the class and it sounds like coaches will look to take 20 commits. Coach Petersen and his assistant coaches are doing a great job in getting some top prospects in the boat. Here are a couple more names fans should be following:

Kyler Gordon, a 4-star cornerback out of Archbishop Murphy HS, WA. He has offers from a bunch of schools including UW, Stanford, Oregon, and Notre Dame.

Treashaun Harrison, a 4-star athlete out of Garfield HS, WA. He has offers from the likes of UW, Oregon, Michigan, and Notee Dame.

Justin Dedich and Stephen Jones, both of whom are 4-star offensive linemen from Temecula HS, CA. Both have offers from most of the Pac-12, including UW.

Devin Culp, a 4-star WR/Ath out of Gonzaga Prep HS, WA. He was once committed to Oregon but re-opened his recruitment once Helfrich was fired and is strongly looking at UW.

There are a lot of other top-end players that the Huskies have offered and are pursuing. Right now the scholarships for the 2018 class look to be distributed as follows:

QB—Originally, the general consensus was that UW would only take one, but with Yankoff and Sirmon the Dawgs are set at QB with two.

RB—More than likely two.

WR—Three.

TE—One.

OL—Two with an outside shot at three.

DE/Buck—One.

DT—Two, most likely.

LB—One inside and two outside linebackers.

CB--One or two, depending on who they can get.

S--Looking at one or two, depending on who they can get.

That’s all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
