It was only recently announced that Sam “Taki” Taimani was verbally committed to the University of Washington, but today he made that official, signing his letter of intent, faxing it it all the way from Salt Lake City.

Taimani is from East High School and has come on strong in his senior season, cementing his status as a four-star prospect and a top offensive lineman. The national recruit had suitors from all over the country, and that the Dawgs were able to pry him away from other programs such as Alabama and Notre Dame says wonders about the future ability to recruit linemen.
Taimani’s talents are not just limited to the offensive side, as he has been touted as a potential D-lineman. He has the athleticism to do whichever, but the makeup of the class has most thinking that Taimani will play offensive guard.
ESPN has him as a top 200 recruit nationally and third in the state of Utah. He’s also listed as the ninth ranked guard nationally as well. This is a big fish and a big man at 6’3, 312 lbs.
The Utah native was part of a span of three commits within 24 hours, the others being linebacker MJ Tafisi (from Sandy, Utah) and EDGE Zion Tupuola-Fetui.
