- Chris Landon gave his analysis of what impact the new early signing day (which runs from Dec. 20 to 22 this year) will have on the recruiting landscape.
- Joan Niesen of Sports Illustrated has high praise for Oregon State’s hiring of former Washington offensive coordinator Jonathan Smith, grading it the third-best move on this year’s head coaching carousel.
- Oregon defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt will reportedly stay in Eugene, to the tune of $1.7 million per year. Phil Knight’s generous patronage of the UO athletic department means that Leavitt is now one of the most highly compensated assistant coaches in the nation.

- Likewise, Andy Staples says that the new signing period has thrown college football recruiting into uncharted territory.
- Percy Allen recaps the men’s basketball team’s narrow 80-77 victory over Loyola Marymount on Sunday afternoon.
