- Some very sad news today as we learned former Husky defensive end great Daniel Te’o-Nesheim has passed away at the age of 30. Te’o-Nesheim owned Washington’s career sacks record (30) when he left the program after the 2009 season, and in 2008 won the team’s Guy Flaherty Award as the program’s most inspirational player. DTN, as he was affectionately known by his teammates, was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft and played a total of four seasons in Philadelphia and Tampa Bay, and last played in an NFL game in 2013.
- Adam Jude focuses on Tristan Vizcaino, whose perfect place kicking performance Saturday has begun to shore up one of Washington’s few Achilles’ heels.
- Matt Calkins says that by shutting down Josh Rosen and UCLA’s high-powered offense, the Husky defense has established itself as one of the best in the nation.
- Washington is back atop Kyle Bonagura’s power rankings over at the ESPN Pac-12 Blog.
- The Dawgs are back in the top-10 of the USA Today’s weekly re-ranking of the nation’s college football teams.
- Jude takes a look at the Oregon Ducks, who have won every game at Husky Stadium since 2003.
- The men’s soccer team is right in the thick of the Pac-12 race after taking down the Bruins in Los Angeles.
