The Associated Press released its preseason top 25 poll today, ranking the Huskies 14th. It marks Washington’s highest preseason ranking in the poll since the 2002 team that earned a preseason ranking of ninth; that year’s team finished the season unranked, but knocked off No. 3 Washington State in a wild triple-overtime Apple Cup at Martin Stadium.
Washington is the highest ranked team which finished 2015 unranked. Last 3 times UW entered season ranked, it finished unranked.
