Dwayne Washington's decision to forgo his final year of eligibility at the UW was vindicated tonight when the Detroit Lions selected him with the 236th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

After leading the Huskies in rushing attempts in 2014 with 132 carries, the 6-2, 219 lb. Washington began the 2015 season atop UW's depth chart but quickly yielded that spot to true freshman Myles Gaskin. Despite finishing the year with just 47 carries, Washington was nonetheless an integral part of the offense as a pass blocker and check-down receiver, finishing the season with 25 receptions for 315 yards and tying the team lead for receiving touchdowns with three.
