Six days after the 2016 signing day the Huskies have landed their 1st commit of the year and 2nd of the 2017 class joining CB Keith Taylor:
Truly blessed to say I've received an offer & to announce my commitment to the University Of Washington! #Woof pic.twitter.com/lXbkpFqpxU
— Connor Wedington (@ConnorWedington) February 10, 2016
Connor was offered while on an unofficial visit and wasted no time making his decision, committing on the spot. The 5-11, 183-pound Sumner High star plays both corner back and running back for the Spartans, but the Huskies are said to be recruiting him as a running back. This past season Wedington rushed for 1,501 yards and 22 TDs on 188 carries. Following a very productive junior campaign, Wedington was named to the 3A AP All-State first-team as a RB. He also proved to be a force on the defensive side of the ball, earning all-league accolades at LB and all-area honors at DB by the Tacoma News Tribune. Wedington's commit is a fantastic start to what is a superb crop of in-state prospects in 2017.
