Recruiting Roundup: The start of the silly season

UW to host the top OL prospect in the nation.

The last several days have been very newsworthy, starting with the decommitment of Connor Wedington. Although this is a huge blow for the recruiting class, the staff has a RB already committed in Salvon Ahmed. They are also in on several big fish, namely Isaiah Pola Mao, Austin Jackson, and Joseph Lewis (Scout.com’s #1 wideout in 2017, rumored to be a potential visitor in January) among many. The success of the Husky team this season has opened a lot of doors for UW coaches on the recruiting trail. With 3-4 spots left, expect the staff to use this season's success to finish the class strong.

This weekend the staff hosted three known visitors (the next round of visits will be in January):

Foster Sarell (a consensus 5-star offensive tackle) out of Graham, WA. He is arguably the biggest remaining recruit on the Husky staff’s wishlist. Foster will be committing on January 7th at the Army All-American bowl.

Chaz Ah You, a 4-star DB out of Utah, is visiting UW. He is rumored to be considering UW, BYU, UCLA, and Utah. He is an LDS PSA who will be taking his mission and count as a 2019 PSA when he is done with his mission.

Keith Taylor, a 4-star DB out of Servite, CA is a current Husky commit. He looks to be all Husky on his visit.

The staff has also been busy doing some in-home visits with recruits:

Ty Jones, a 3-star wideout out of Utah and current Husky commit, is rumored to be visiting Utah this weekend but was visited by Coach Hamdan.

Salvon Ahmed, a four-star RB out of Kirkland, WA, was visited by Coach Pete and staff. He is slotted to begin at RB when he comes in.

3-star LB/TE and current Husky commit Cade Otton, out of Tumwater, WA, was visited by Coach Pete and staff. He projects to begin his career on defense.
