Seattle, WA - As I write this article, while I sit on my bed with a nasty case of the stomach flu, I can’t help but relate to the Huskies’ offense last week. Every time I feel like I can stand up and do something, I get knocked off my feet. It’s an unfortunate cycle that, while I’m dealing with it at them moment, hopefully the Huskies are over it. The other unfortunate part of me being sick is that this article is going to get cut a little bit short ... sorry about that dawg fans.

This is the second game in a row where the Huskies have faced a team that is leading the all-time series between the two teams. Right, the Sun Devils are up on the Huskies at 18-15 all-time. To make matters worse, they also currently hold the longest current winning streak against the Huskies of any team in the country right now at 10 games. The last time the Huskies beat Arizona State was 2001 ... it’s time for this streak to end.
LAST PLACE - The Sun Devils are exactly last place in yards allowed per play this season.
SECOND PLACE - The Huskies are ... you guessed it, second place in yards allowed per play.
2.08 - the difference between the two teams in yards allowed per play
TIE - both teams have 28 sacks this season.
THREE - the number of receivers in the Pac-12 this season with double-digit touchdown receptions.
TWO - the number of those receivers that play for the Huskies.
LAST - Arizona State’s conference rank in sacks allowed, sack yards, and sacks per game this season.
FIRST - Jake Browning’s conference rank for QB rating.
191.67 - Jake Browning’s QB rating.
157.52 - Second place ...
116.2 - The number of yards the Sun Devils are getting outgained on average each game.
Putting it all Together
Jake Browning needs to stay upright. The offensive line really must do a better job than they did last week against SC. No more anemia.
The Sun Devils give up a lot of yards, and a lot of points. Their defensive strategy, at least from what I’ve seen so far, is to keep the other offense on the field for as long as possible, so they can play catch up.
As long as the Husky defense can keep Arizona State from scoring, the Huskies will win this game. Hopefully they can find a way to get to the quarterback, and protect the middle of the field.
The Huskies are, favorites to win this game, and it’s not even close. It’s 27.5 points (courtesy of VegasInsider). The O/U is 63 points.
