In the continuation of our 'Get to Know a Husky Commit' series we catch up with Brandon Wellington, the first commit of the 2016 class. We'd like to thank Brandon for taking the time to talk with us here at the Dawg Pound.

Graduating Early: No

What They're Saying About Brandon:

The first time you see Wellington, you notice his outstanding physique and frame. He's a legit 6'2" and 220 pounds. Wellington also runs really well, showing nimble feet and the quick-twitch muscle movement of an elite athlete.

- Scott Eklund, Dawgman.com

The Washington commit is a smooth, natural athlete, very competitive and plays with a high football IQ. He has a body that is a sort of a hybrid between a safety/linebacker but in the right system, he'll be able to make plays no matter where he lines up.

- Greg Biggins, Scout.com

He's well put together, at about 6-0, 215, runs really well, has good feet and cutback ability and catches the ball extremely well. He may be the top overall skill prospect in the Northwest, regardless of class.

- Brandon Huffman, Scout.com

And Here's What Brandon Has to Say:

UWDP: What made you choose Washington?

Brandon Wellington: I chose Washington because of how welcoming the coaching staff is and how well they take care of the players not only on, but off the field

UWDP: What was your favorite thing about your visit(s)?

Brandon Wellington: My favorite thing about my visits there is how at home I feel.

UWDP: Because you committed to so early in the recruiting process, how tough has it been to turn down other schools that come calling?

Brandon Wellington: Because I committed so early it's been really hard to fight off other schools that are calling because they 're ones that I dreamed about going to or visiting when I was younger.

UWDP: Which players do you model your game after?

Brandon Wellington: I try to model my game after Shaq Thompson, Von miller, and Su'a Cravens.

UWDP: Which uncommitted player would you most want to commit to UW?

Brandon Wellington: An uncommitted player that I'd most want to commit to UW is probably Boss from De La Salle and apparently we are related so that's cool as well lol.

UWDP: What were the best and worst things about the recruiting process?

Brandon Wellington: Haha I can't really answer this one because it ended so fast for me, but I'd say seeing how fired up the whole staff was about me coming there.

Once again I'd like to thank Brandon for taking the time to talk with us. We wish him the best of luck this season as he and his team defend their state title.
