Washington kicked off their first official off-season practice session this morning, the first of 15 culminating in what's being called the Spring Preview on Saturday, April 25th. The beat writers were on hand, and here's some of what they've been reporting:
Wouldn't necessarily read much into it, but K.J. Carta-Samuels is working with No. 1 offense early in 1st practice. Jeff Lindquist w/ twos.

#UW true frosh QB Jake Browning running third team offense...quick release...tight spiral
— Scott Eklund (@ScottEklund) March 30, 2015
Shaq Thompson and John Timu both at practice this morning. Watching. Not participating.

Fwiw, Jake Browning takes reps with No. 1 offense in second 11-on-11. Carta-Samuels with the twos.

Third-year sophomore TE David Ajamu is having a great practice. Just caught a pass in traffic for a sizeable gain.

And now Lindquist taking first-team snaps in UW's final 11-on-11. The 3 QBs all sharing reps equally, and all 3 have had their moments.

Deontae Cooper and Naijiel Hale only players I didn't see today.
— Christian Caple (@ChristianCaple) March 30, 2015
Chris Petersen said Cooper will be out there. And he said Hale will miss at least this week. Didn't specify.

RT Coleman Shelton had his arm in a sling. K. Bierria, K. King, J. Ross, J. Kelly and T. Walker present but also sidelined.
— Christian Caple (@ChristianCaple) March 30, 2015
Brandon Beaver, Travis Feeney and Brandon Lewis wore yellow no-contact jerseys.

Petersen says door isn't closed on Cyler Miles' potential return to team. "But we’ve got to go with the guys we’ve got here now."
— Adam Jude (@A_Jude) March 30, 2015
More Petersen on Miles: "We love Cyler and we support him and got his back, no question."
— Adam Jude (@A_Jude) March 30, 2015
Petersen said they badly needed Ross at CB last year. But: "We see it like everybody else does – he’s very explosive with the ball."

Finally, here are a few links of interest:
- Mason Kelly has a new article in time for the start of Spring Practices, and one word sums up the goal of the team: improvement
- The TNT's Christian Caple posted some videos from the practice session
- Caple was a busy guy and also had some post-practice video interviews from the team
- Caple also has a transcription (and video) from Petersen's news conference following practice
- And finally, the Dawgman crew put together a podcast recapping their impressions of today's practice
