Recapping last weekend's Junior Day, and looking ahead to the NFL Combine.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports
  • More doom and gloom for Lorenzo Romar and Co., as the Huskies dropped their fifth straight Sunday to Oregon State. Caple wonders where it all went wrong.

  • Washington hosted its Junior Day this weekend, and several 2016 and 2017 players came away with ear-to-ear grins and scholarship offers. Kirk has the details for you.

  • Dawgman also posted plenty of Junior Day stories (most of them behind their paywall), and posted a podcast recapping much of the same.

  • Danny Shelton, Hau'oli Kikaha, Shaq Thompson and Marcus Peters earned invitations to the NFL Combine. You might notice a certain No. 2 is not featured in that list.

  • Well, this is just great. Now I'm going to spend the entire offseason having Vietnam flashbacks to Sept. 6, 2014.
  • In other news about that team down south, Mark Helfrich has earned himself a nice little payday.

  • Braden Bishop of the baseball team hosted a Q&A session on Twitter today at 2:30 p.m. Click on the hashtag below to see the questions Husky Nation posed to him, and read Mason Kelley's profile about Bishop's work to raise money for research into Alzheimer's disease.
  • The football team wasn't the only UW athletics program to sign its newest class of members last week.
