Ben Burr-Kirven is a guy that fans of old school football will fall in love with. He's a hard nosed, hard hitting, downhill football player. His play garnered him all kinds of accolades in California in his career, as well as scholarship offers from other Pac-12 programs Arizona and Arizona state. Burr-Kirven's situation is a lot like what Budda Baker faced coming out of high school: if he was a couple of inches taller he'd have gotten an extra star from the recruiting services.
Burr-Kirven definitely needs time in the weight room and a redshirt year, because he simply won't be able to compete in the Pac-12 giving up 100 pounds to offensive linemen, but the talent and potential is undoubtedly there. UW's depth at linebacker will allow Burr-Kirven the time he needs to develop into UW's middle linebacker of the future.
