The game that many thought would never be played has now been confirmed to featured game for ESPN under Friday Night Lights on September 4th.

When Chris Petersen left Boise State to take over as the head coach of Washington, many speculated that the Huskies would attempt to get out of the matchup in order to spare Petersen a return trip to his alma mater so soon after his departure. It is not clear that there was even such an attempt and, now, the Huskies trip to Boise will become one of the major headlines of the college football preseason.

The Huskies, then coached by Steve Sarkisian, whipped Boise State in the grand opening of the new Husky Stadium in 2013. However, they are sure to go to Boise as underdogs - perhaps significant underdogs - in Petersen's return.
