All it took was one game this week for Andrew Andrews to become Pac 12 Player of the Week. With his career-best 35 points, the Junior helped end the Huskies 7 game losing streak. It’s the first time Andrews has earned the achievement and he’s the first Husky this season to win the award.
Andrews dropped the game winning 3 with 3 seconds left on the clock to beat Washington State in Pullman. The Dawgs defeated the Cougs 87-84. The 35 points included 6 three pointers which is the most since CJ Wilcox hit 7 last January. Andrews career night was the most by any Husky since Brandon Roy scored 35 against Arizona in 2005. According to the Husky press release announcing the award for Andrews, he became the 38th Husky in program history to score over 1,000 points.
As the Dawgs play the LA schools this week, here’s hoping Andrews continues his hot streak. The Huskies will need the offense playing UCLA and USC in LA.
