It's been a winding road for Austin Joyner. He first committed to Washington and Steve Sarkisian as a RB prospect in November of 2013. Then Sark left for USC, causing Joyner to re-open his recruiting. After some consideration, he decided he wanted to be recruited as a CB, and when WSU was quick to offer him at that position, he pledged for the Cougars. Chris Petersen and his staff waited to evaluate him at this new position, but when they decided to offer him as a CB as well it was game-on. Many figured it was only a matter of time before he flipped back to Washington, and when Mike Leach fired Mike Breske - the WSU defensive coordinator and the main recruiting contact for Joyner - the decision became easy for him to once again re-open his recruiting.
He took official visits to Washington and Boise State, and was scheduled to officially visit WSU later this month. But he then decided to make his announcement at the Semper Fi all-star game, and Husky fans figured that was good news. He made it official today to once gain commit to the Huskies, and this one figures to be the final twist in his recruitment.
