Washington Vs Georgia State Third Quarter Update - UW Leads 21-14

The Huskies started off strong on the ground, but a GSU blitz disrupted the UW offense on 3rd and 4 causing a Cyler Miles incompletion and a UW punt.

The Husky defense finally showed a little gumption and got the Panthers off the field in 3 plays for the first time on the day, and Dante Pettis took the ensuing punt into the redzone on a 35 yard return. Cyler Miles picked up a nice chunk on a scramble, and though he fumbled the Huskies recovered. Jeff Lindquist entered the game and immediately took the ball up the gut 9 yards for a touchdown to pull within a touchdown at 14-7.

The Huskies again forced a three and out after a Marcus Peters pass interference was picked up due to incidental contact, and Pettis again had a slick return for 35 yards.

After their usual failed screen and ineffective run game, Miles was hit as he threw and UW was forced into a 4th down, which Cyler Miles quick kicked, pinning Georgia State at their own 1 yard line.

In a precarious situation near their own goal line Georgia State played it conservative by running the ball and attempting to create some space on their first two plays, and on third down Nick Arbuckle was sacked by Danny Shelton -- nearly resulting in a safety. A third straight three and out, a punt, and a block in the back gave UW the ball at its own 46 yard line.

The Husky offense looked to be unimpressive on their first couple of plays until a throw down the middle of the field to DiAndre Campbell on 3rd down picked up 21 yards and a first down. Another Lindquist run kept the chains moving until a Miles pass to Kendyl Taylor snuck in between a couple of defenders and the Huskies pulled even at 14.

GSU opened its drive with a quick to a WR, and Sidney Jones ripped the ball out and recovered it. The play was reviewed, but there was no conclusive evidence to overturn it.

Lavon Coleman took a couple of carries for a first down and goal at the GSU 8 yard line, and a read/bubble option by Miles ended up in Kasen Williams's hands for a Husky TD to get up 21-14.

Danny Shelton got a hand on Arbuckle on GSU's first play of their next drive, and Evan Hudson brought him down for the sack. On the next play, Evan Hudson got involved with a sack. A third and long play didn't get much, and GSU punted for the 4th time in 5 drives. Pettis returned the punt 27 yards.
