The Huskies' week 2 opponent Eastern Washington is taking the field against Sam Houston State. Eastern is perennially one of the top FCS programs, having won 36 games over the past 3 seasons and the FCS National Championship in 2010.
Their star is Vernon Adams Jr, who you may have seen torching Oregon State in an EWU when he threw for 411 yards and 4 TDs while rushing for 107 and 2 TDs. Eastern won the game 49-46. Adams is 20-4 on his career as a starter, with a 15-1 conference record. He enters 2014 as a Walter Peyton Award candidate -- for which he was runner-up a year ago after scoring 59 total touchdowns. He is joined on the list by sophomore teammate and favorite target Cooper Kupp, who in 2013 racked up 93 catches, 1691 yards and 21 TDs -- all of which are new FCS records for a freshman.
The game kicks off at 12:30 p.m. PT on ESPN
