Dot...Dot...Dawg (7/25)

Wrapping up media day, the national media gets its first taste of Chris Petersen as Washington's head man, and Cyler Miles' punishment is made public.

Plenty of news came out of this week's Pac-12 Media Days in Hollywood, Calif.

Too Dot to handle.
  • If you missed it yesterday, you can find all of our Pac-12 Media Days coverage here.

  • The biggest news coming out of Hollywood concerning Washington is confirmation of the widely-held belief that Cyler Miles will be suspended for the Hawaii game. Ted Miller says that the controversy serves as Petersen's unofficial initiation into life as a Pac-12 coach.

  • Petersen also gave Dawg fans a reason for optimism on the offensive side of the ball.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Petersen says Kasen Williams is expected to be 100 percent to start fall camp and is running full speed now.</p>&mdash; Thuc Nhi Nguyen (@thucnhi21) <a href="https://twitter.com/thucnhi21/statuses/492387095692857344">July 24, 2014</a></blockquote><script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

  • In talking about Miles and former receiver Damore'ea Stringfellow's decision to fight Seahawks fans, Petersen gave us what I already know will be one of my all-time favorite quotations.

  • Chris Petersen sat down with Mike Yam and Rick Neuheisel and Glenn Parker to talk about taking ownership of his new team.

  • Later, Ben Riva and Hau'oli Kikaha talked about the state of the program and having Chris Petersen as their new coach in an interview with the guys from the Pac-12 Networks.

  • Stewart Mandel wonders if Chris Petersen is the man who will lead UW back to the top of the conference, while Steven Godfrey says that Petersen is the Pac-12's favorite new nice guy.

  • There are too many to link to individually, but check out Sports Radio KJR's podcast page (especially Softy's show) for a ton of audio from Pac-12 Media Days. 1320 KFAN has audio from all of their interviews here, as well.

  • You want jerseys? Well, go get 'em.
    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>For those who have been asking, the new <a href="https://twitter.com/UW_Football">@UW_Football</a> replica jerseys are now available. <a href="http://t.co/D4eJSmx531">http://t.co/D4eJSmx531</a> <a href="http://t.co/j6ixepzxgb">pic.twitter.com/j6ixepzxgb</a></p>&mdash; Washington Huskies (@UWAthletics) <a href="https://twitter.com/UWAthletics/statuses/492375343194324992">July 24, 2014</a></blockquote><script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

  • Dawg fans got some unfortunate news yesterday, too.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Petersen just said that freshman Jaimie Bryant, a defensive tackle from Tumwater who grayshirted last year, is taking a medical retirement.</p>&mdash; Adam Jude (@A_Jude) <a href="https://twitter.com/A_Jude/statuses/492418111480426497">July 24, 2014</a></blockquote><script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Question of the Day

It had been widely speculated that Cyler Miles would be suspended for the Hawaii game following his offseason, off-field antics following the Super Bowl, but that decision was made official when Chris Petersen announced it yesterday.
