As predicted, C.J. Wilcox was drafted. He was taken in the first round by the Los Angeles Clippers, number 28 overall.
Though his career with the Huskies was not filled with much team success, Wilcox will go down as the best shooter in Husky basketball history. He deserves a lot of respect for sticking around for a fifth year to try and help UW back to the Big Dance, despite it not doing much to help his draft stock.
We went over his scouting report earlier this morning, so if you haven't seen that, then take a look at it.
As a 23-year-old fifth-year senior, he is going to be expected to contribute immediately, and he has just the skill set to do so. He will be playing behind one of the best shooters in the NBA in J.J. Redick. When Redick hits the bench, the Clippers won't be lacking for shooting. This continues the effort by the Clippers to surround Blake Griffin and Chris Paul with shooters, with Redick being recently acquired along with Matt Barnes and Seattle product Jamal Crawford.
We're going to miss the purest shooting stroke to come through the University of Washington. Here is a look at him making a lot of three-point shots during his freshman season. Good luck in the NBA, C.J.
