It was a tight contest with Mississippi taking a one run lead, the Huskies tying it the next, taking the lead a couple of innings later, only to have the Rebels tie it right back up. The teams seemed evenly matched throughout the entire game -- and even through the nearly two hour rain delay that the teams endured.

The game pushed into extra innings deadlocked at 2-2, and in the 10th inning Ole Miss's Sikes Orvis hit a triple down the first base line to give UM a 3-2 advantage. The bottom of the 10th came and the Dawgs went

The UW pitching effort was a by-committee, joint effort in which Will Ballowe, Brandon Choate, Troy Rallings, Alex Nesbitt, and Trevor Dunlap combined for 10 innings pitched 11 hits allowed and 3 walks, but surrendered just 3 runs.
