NCAA Baseball Tournament: UW Beats Georgia Tech 8-0

Tyler Davis was the best player on the field, and the Husky bats gave him more than enough support.

UW Baseball

The Huskies got on the board in the first inning after Braden Bishop was hit by a pitch, got sacrifice bunted over to 2nd by Andrew Ely, stole 3rd, and then got knocked in on an RBI single by Austin Rei.

In the 4th inning, the Huskies got a bases-loaded, one out situation and Erik Forgione gave UW a 2-0 lead with a line drive single to left field that pushed Trevor Mitsui across the plate. Braden Bishop followed with a two run double, and Andrew Ely beat out an infield single to give UW a commanding 5-nothing lead.

The Dawgs got the bases loaded again in the 6th and couldn't get any more insurance runs there, but added two more on a double with runners on second and third by Robert Pehl. A bases loaded GDIP in the 8th by Kyle London gave the Huskies their 8th run.

Tyler Davis was dealing, and never really faced any trouble. He was undoubtedly the game's star, throwing a complete game, allowing just 4 hits, and striking out 8 batters. It was the first ever shutout for UW in the NCAA's.

Braden Bishop was perfect at the plate, going 3/3 with three singles, a walk, and a HBP. He scored two runs and had two RBI.
