The Husky women enter the Super Regional on a tear, having won their last four games by a combined score of 40-0, including a sweep of the Regionals against Iona, BYU, and Northwestern. They haven't allowed a run in 22 innings, and haven't dropped a series since March. They're playing their best ball of the season, and peaking at the perfect time.
For those not familiar with the Women's College World Series, the Super Regional is a best of three series with the winner going on to the WCWS. The Dawgs have made it to the WCWS in four of the previous seven seasons, including their 2009 National Championship.
Washington is led by pitcher Kaitlin Inglesby -- an All-American in 2013 -- who is 13-4 on the year with a 2.12 ERA, as well as Victoria Hayward, a three time All-Conference player who is one of the nation's best hitters on the year with a .424 batting average. Kylee Lahners adds some pop to the lineup, having hit 17 home runs on the year (3rd in the Pac-12) and hitting .350 with 10 doubles.
The game will be broadcast on ESPNU at 10 am, Pacific time.
