With do-everything kicker Travis Coons graduating and Cameron Van Winkle and Cory Durkee both being up in the air, it was important that the Huskies get someone to come in and add to that equation and maybe answer some questions. We saw the difference between 2012 and 2013 of having a kicker who negatively impacts the game versus one who you don't have to worry about.
Because Van Winkle and Durkee are such big question marks, it's entirely possible that Vizcaino comes in and contributes from day one. Which, really, is exactly what you expect when you give a scholarship to a specialist, it's just that UW's luck in recruiting those guys has been pretty terrible of late. Vizcaino should change that.
