Editor's Note: This is Recruiting Rumors Open Thread #5. Previous threads can be access via the Recruiting News and Rumors Storystream. A new thread will be opened on signing day, this Wednesday.
- The top recruit in the state of Washington, Budda Baker, has committed to UW live on King 5 TV.
- Big news today, as the #2 prospect in the state - Kaleb McGary - has announced he'll be staying home to play for his childhood favorite Washington Huskies per Marshall Cherrington.
- Huge pickup as the Huskies and Chris Petersen have flipped Naijel Hale, a stud DB out of St. John Bosco, from Arizona. Rumor has it that Rich Rodriguez threatened to pull Hale's offer if he took an OV. Hale did take that visit and RichRod carried through on his threat. Some feel that Hale may have already had his mind made up at that point and, in fact, has been lobbying fellow DB recruit Budda Baker to follow suit.
- Drew Lewis firmed up his commitment to Washington and Coach Petersen
- Washington responds by flipping DE Jaylen Johnson, arguably the Broncos' most impressive recruit.
- Boise State gets some revenge against Washington as they flip TE Chase Blakely tonight according to Justin Hopkins of 247Sports.
- In what could be the first of multiple commits tonight, Greg Biggins is reporting that ATH Sidney Jones has switched his commitment from Utah to Washington. Jones will most likely play CB.
- The first commit of the weekend is in, and it's Will Dissly, an athletic DE/TE prospect previously committed to Boise State. He's considered the top prospect this year out of Montana:

- Chris Petersen and staff, fresh off getting the Pettis commit, is calling on another WR right now:

- In the biggest news of the day, 4-star QB K.J. Carta-Samuels has committed to Washington; he had been a long-time commit to Vanderbilt under Head Coach James Franklin left for Penn State
- After taking a few days to think about it following his official visit to Seattle, former Colorado commit Jomon Dotson - a RB/DB prospect - decided to instead commit to Washington per Adam Gorney and Marshall Cherrington
- Aaron Chapman, a Bellarmine RB, confirmed today that he has commited to UW as a preferred walk-on per multiple sources.

- And there is this re a classicly molded Petersen OKG. Chapman is a Bellarmine RB who has endured a couple of knee surgeries:
Aaron Chapman has informed me that he will not be Attending #BoiseStateFootball as planned and will be attending at UW. #WalkOnRunningBack
