UW QB Jake Browning Ties Another National High School TD Record

New, 24 comments

Jake Browning last night tied the national mark for TD passes thrown in a single season.

Jake Browning, a UW CB commit that has already signed financial aid papers, concluded his high school career last night in guiding Folsom High School to a dominating 68-7 win over Oceanside in the CIF Division I Bowl Game last night.  It was a fantastic topper to his career at Folsom as Browning tied the national record for most TD passes thrown in a season with 91.

Browning entered the game six shy of the national record.  He got the record in the third quarter after the game was well out of hand.  He finished the night 27-34 for 445 yards and 6 TDs to go with a rushing TD.  It was the most points allowed that Oceanside had ever surrendered.

The single-season record adds to Browning's accolades for the season.  He came into the night already the owner of the national career TD pass mark when he surpassed Missouri's Maty Mauk's previous record of 219 two weeks ago.  Browning exits his career with 229 career TD passes.

Browning has already graduated from Folsom and will be enrolling at UW for Winter Quarter.  He is widely expected to participate in Spring practice and to redshirt in the 2015 UW Football Season.  Here is his "Under the Radar" highlight reel from 2014.
