Marcus Peters Dismissed

572

The dismissal of Marcus Peters is the culmination of a discipline issue that has been vexing the new Husky coaching staff for most of the regular season. As detailed by Adam Jude in the link above, Peters was finally dismissed following a series of verbal run-ins with coaches that began during the Colorado game and extended throughout the week. Peters is widely viewed as a first-round talent who was likely to declare for the NFL draft this spring. His dismissal will immediately raise character concerns and will likely impact his draft stock. The Huskies go into the rest of the regular season dangerously thin at CB with the only scholarship players remaining being Travell Dixon, Sidney Jones and Naijil Hale. Safeties Brian Clay and Budda Baker are also possible options at CB as is wide receiver John Ross.
