Washington Huskies Vs Arizona State Sun Devils Second Quarter Update - ASU Leads 10-0

ASU punted to start the quarter, got a penalty to punt it again, got it partially blocked, and Pac-12 refs got involved and fucked everything up. The kick was clearly blocked, so running into the kicker becomes an impossible penalty. The refs called that penalty regardless, and UPHELD IT ON REVIEW.

The Huskies took over at their own 42. Jeff Lindquist got some burn at QB, and took a carry for a first down to convert a 3rd and medium. Deontae Cooper took a couple of carries up the gut for big chunks to get the Dawgs near the red zone, and Troy Williams completed a short pass over the middle to DiAndre Campbell, but they could not convert on 3rd down. A 40 yard field goal attempt by Cameron Van Winkle was blocked.

A quick three and out for ASU thanks primarily to a DJ Foster drop gave the Dawgs the ball back at their own 20.

UW responded in kind after Williams went 1/2 and a Shaq Thompson run went nowhere. Korey Durkee shanked his punt out of bounds, and ASU took over at midfield.

ASU picked up a first down, and Demario Richard took a run off tackle 20 yards to inside the red zone. Taylor Kelly found Jaelen Strong on play action in the end zone to put ASU up 7-0.

John Ross took the return out to the 43, and ASU added 5 yards to that to give UW a start to their drive at near midfield. The UW offense went backward and punted back to the Sun Devils. Another shank by Durkee for a 14 yard punt.

The Sun Devils burned the Huskies on a swing pass for 36 yards to put ASU in position to score again. After an Andrew Hudson sack and a Marcus Peters breakup, ASU knocked through a field goal to go up 10-0.

With little time left in the half, the Husky 2 minute drill was in effect, but there was too far to go and too little time to get there. The half would end at 10-0.
