Malik Dime, Devenir Duruisseau commit to Washington

The two newest commitments to the University of Washington had their picks announced within just minutes of each other, as forwards Malik Dime and Devin Duruisseau both have committed to the University of Washington.

Dime has been on UW fans' radars for a while now. He was originally being recruited by Kansas, and its unclear who lost interest in that relationship. It came down to the Washington Huskies, Iowa State Cyclones, Arkansas Razorbacks and Rutgers Scarlet Knights for the junior college forward. Dime will be part of the 2015 class alongside Duruisseau. Out of Palmdale, Calif. Duruisseau was considering San Jose State.

Dime is a 6-9 power forward with bounce. His game is to beat you with athleticism whether it be defensively, on the boards or in transition. Bounce is the name to his game. He stays around the rim offensively, with good hands to catch lobs or dump-off passes from guards and to gather offensive rebounds to throw back down. He will be a college junior with two years to play two by the time he hits UW.

Duruisseau is a player of a different mold. He is a strong player down low, with the ability to step outside and hit an occasional three. At 6-9, 240 lbs. he is built to push people around. He is still raw in terms of his footwork in the post but has the ability to develop into a solid four-man, as long as he has a strong rim protector (like Malik Dime or Robert Upshaw) next to him. He was listed as a three-star recruit by both Rivals and ESPN.

This is a big day for the Huskies. The 2015 class was already strong, one of the best in the nation. Now it adds another developmental piece in Duruisseau and one of the top JuCo recruits in the country in Dime.

Losing incoming freshman Tristan Etienne opened up another scholarship, though with these two commitments the Huskies are at 15 scholarships for the 2015-16 season. Romar is preparing as if Nigel Williams-Goss is going to be leaving for the NBA after this season and as if he is going to be losing/removing someone else's scholarship.

Note: Malik Dime will come in as a Junior with two years to play two.  If you see any errors, let me know.  I threw this together pretty quickly. -CL
