Game-Week Previews: Cal Preview Stream
(Everything you'll need to see before you catch the game.)
The Huskies lead the Golden Bears in this series 52-38-4. The Dawgs currently have a 5-game winning streak, and a 6-1 record over the last 7 years. Last year's game involved a whole lot of Bishop Sankey, who ran over, around and through Cal's defense, to the tune of 241 yards ... oh, and the Dawgs also had 376 passing yards.
2.5 - The Bears average margin of victory when scoring 59 or more points in a game this season
50 - The number of points Cal has scored per game this season ...
1 - The number of TD's Stanford has allowed in the first quarter this season so far
What They're Saying
No insults intended; this is really just some game week fun ... so have a laugh. These quotes were removed from any relevant context that would give them any logical sense .... These quotes are courtesy of California Golden Blogs:
I'm starting to worry this game will be closer than we've let on
You forgot a very important fact. Every QB plays like a Heisman candidate against Cal.
A frisky pass rush is the most likely thing I imagine will rattle JGoff and his mojo.
Questions Needing Answers
I only have one question for the offense this week: Will you please put some points on the board?
How many sacks will Shelton and Kikaha combine for? Will the young secondary come through big time, in what will be a big-time test for them today? How many turnovers will the Dawgs force?
What will the final score add up to? Is it just me, or does the Cal Bear mascot just look like an old man with jaundice?
This game has the potential to be a blowout, and not in favor of the Huskies. Let's hope that OWW's prediction holds true and the UW defense gives Cal a punch in the mouth.
Gameday Dots (Stanford Perspective Heavy this Week)
These are courtesy of VegasInsider. The Huskies are 4 point dogs and the O/U is 70 points. So far the Huskies are 2 for five against the spread.
Come on over to the game thread to have a little bit of jovial banter with fellow Dawg fans, and the occasional troll, or New Mexico State Aggies fan .... You'll be happy you did. It opens up a half hour or so before kickoff.
