Pac-12 and National Games Open Thread

A pair of games involving ranked teams and a rivalry in the state of Florida accompany the Pac-12's docket of delicious pastries.

National games of intrigue:

#11 Georgia vs #6 South Carolina (+6) 1:30 Pacific, ESPN: Both of these teams looked pretty good in their opening week performances -- no shame in Georgia losing to an elite Clemson team -- but all I can think of is how badly South Carolina destroyed Georgia last season. South Carolina's defense is more than good enough to frustrate Georgia's offense, and I think this one will be close. I definitely don't think Georgia is a touchdown better than the Cocks. Take the points here, and enjoy the Jadeveon Clowney show.

Miami vs #12 Florida (-2), 9:00 AM Pacific, ESPN: Florida kind of turned some teams off when they only beat Toledo by 18, but you need to realize that these aren't the Steve Spurrier or Urban Meyer Gators any more. The WIll Muschamp Gators are going to beat teams ugly, and that's how they want to play. Miami hasn't beaten anybody of consequence in a long time and their offense has struggled against the better defenses they've played of late. Florida wins by about 10 and easily covers.

#17 Michigan vs #14 Notre Dame (+3) 5:00 Pacific, ESPN: I have an irrational dislike for Devin Gardner. As Michigan QB's go, he's definitely about 6 pegs below average, though he isn't Denard Robinson-bad. Michigan's offense didn't really blow my skirt up in the air despite their overall throttling of CMU, and I an overall talent edge to the Domers. I also give a cavernous coaching advantage to the Irish. Notre Dame covers here, and taking them outright would be a great value bet.

Season Record: 3-0
