"No stop signs, speed limit Nobodys gonna slow me down Like a wheel, gonna spin it Nobody gonna mess me round"
-AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Who: Boise State @ UW
Where: Husky Stadium, Seattle, Washington
When: 7:00 pm, Pacific Time
TV: Fox Sports 1
Catch it on Fox Sports, with Gus Johnson on the play-by-play, Charles Davis as the color man, and Christina Pink on the sidelines ... as for me, I'll be listening to Mr. Rondeau
History
This series goes all the way back to 2007, when a young QB by the name of Jake Locker led the Huskies to a nice win, breaking the Bronco win streak. Forgetably, the next time these two teams met at the end of the year last year the Dawgs lost in the Las Vegas Bowl. This is the rubber match between the two teams, and it should be a good one!
Numbers
Honestly, for this game I feel like there's not any awesome numbers I could pull to give a little bit of perspective, since we played these guys last year in the Las Vegas Bowl ... so, I leave you with one number ...
0 - The number of losses the Huskies have in their new, shiny stadium.
What They're Saying
I decided that I needed a little more flair to my game previews, so I opted to put in a section devoted entirely to quotes from opposing teams' fans and beat writers ... be prepared, this will be fun! And, just for the record, these are taken completely out of their proper context just to stoke the fire a little ... wow, for some reason I feel the need to put a disclaimer here. No insults intended; this is really just some gameweek fun ... so have a laugh, Husky and Bronco fans alike
I have faith that our 3,000+ fans in attendance will be loud & proud, causing problems for their offense.
All of those things are true. And, there IS a chance they’ll beat us.
Boise State has motivation. Boise State has a chip.
Boise State has plenty of talent and the means to execute that talent (i.e. coaching).
Boise State has a system and a belief in that system.
They shouldn’t beat us by a lot
there is only one reason Boise State may loose; if UW is stronger and faster.
But come on, you don’t think BSU can’t play in front of a big stage? Check your history, and then get back to me.
Whenever confronted by a problematic ... Husky fan, you only need one word: SCOREBOARD!
who’d we beat each time in the Las Vegas bowl?
Questions needing answers
Offense: How will the offense handle running at a much higher pace than last year? What will the offensive line do against Boise States prodigious pass rush? Will ASJ play this game? How many yards will Bishop Sankey rack up this time around? Will John Ross take one to the house?
Defense: How will the defense handle taking more snaps due to the upbeat nature of the revamped offense? Will our non-existent pass rush exist? What is Shaq Thompson going to do this game to make our collective jaws drop? How will our corners hold up? Who is Sean Parker going to light up?
Miscellaneous: How long will the adrenaline from opening up the new Husky Stadium last? How big is Dubs? What do you get when you put three Broncos in a small room?
This is the first game of a new era ... well, at least in a new stadium. I can't wait to see what happens. I hope you all come out, and that you make them fancy new press boxes shake! GO DAWGS!!!
