Martin Breunig To Transfer, Lorenzo Romar To Stay

At today's press conference, Lorenzo Romar dropped some news about player and coach movement

USA TODAY Sports

It should be a surprise to no one that Martin Breunig is leaving the program. After a sophomore season that saw him play virtually never, the writing was on the wall. In basketball, if you're not getting meaningful minutes by your second year then it's probably never going to happen. Best wishes to Breunig as he finds a better fit for his skills.

In other news, Lorenzo Romar also said that he'd be staying at UW, and not heading toward UCLA. Obviously this is good news, but take it with a grain of salt. Nick Saban is not still the coach of the Miami Dolphins, after all. But Romar said that he's a Husky as long as the University of Washington wants him to be, and you'd think that with the level of comfort he has with the program he's built, at his alma mater no less, that it's a pretty safe bet that he'll be at UW for at least as long as his current contract (6 more years) and probably another extension as well.
